The VSS is a 3-circuit (3-wire), magnetic, hall-effect sensor. The three circuits are:
+5v (Violet/organe) - power supply from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
GND (Black/LightBlue) - Provided for the sensor through a low-noise sensor return circuit in the PCM.
Signal (White/Orange) - An input to the PCM is used to determine vehicle speed and distance traveled.


The speed sensor generates 8 pulses per sensor revolution.

Computer wants to see 4,000 ppm

Clearly States:

Actually this does not matter as any 1988-2004(+?) VF1x chaindrive t/case (both manual and autos) can accept a mechanical speedometer cable by using a mechanical vehicle speed sending unit from a 1988-91 V6 5spd transfer case.
